A landfill has a limited life, but a composting plant can continue to process waste indefinitely.


BCNecologia meets with the County Council of Pallars Sobirà

On the 5th of April, BCNecologia maintained a meeting with the County Council of Pallars Sobirà (Catalonia) to present the SCOW project and comment the possibility of developing a new biowaste management in that area. BCNecologia was accompanied by two representatives of the Waste Agency of Catalonia, one of the associates in the SCOW project, who is collaborating on the implementation of the project in Catalonia and also will assume part of the financing cost of the forecasted biowaste management that will be located in the county of Pallar Sobirà.

In the meeting, BCNecologia explained to the President, the Manager and the Technical staff of the County Council the objectives and the contents of the SCOW project. The entire group visited the terrains where the composting facility could be installed and some of the municipalities where the biowaste collection services could be implemented during the project.
